About ANFF | BASE
ANFF
The Australian National Fabrication Facility (ANFF) is a national research infrastructure network established under the NCRIS program, providing open access to advanced micro- and nanofabrication capabilities across 21 locations. The Queensland Node (ANFF-Qld), housed at The University of Queensland (UQ) and strongly supported by UQ through the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN), as well as Griffith University, specialises in microfluidics, biomaterials, organic electronics, novel semiconductor devices and materials, imaging, and characterisation. ANFF-Qld has played a key role in advancing microneedle research and translation, supporting both academic and commercial projects, including those led by Vaxxas and WearOptimo
BASE
BASE mRNA facility is a non-for-profit facility that builds mRNA vaccines and therapies. We offer mRNA design, mRNA production, and mRNA formulation in lipid nanoparticles, as well as off-the-shelf reagent mRNAs. The BASE Facility has emerged as the leading national site that supplies the majority of mRNA to Australian scientists, with 1000 mRNA vaccines and therapies produced to date. We have established the manufacturing processes, expertise and equipment needed to provide scientists with access to rapid, affordable, high-quality mRNA for research use. We collaborate extensively with global industry leaders to advance mRNA manufacture and analytics.
