Professional Bio
Dr Mark Prausnitz is a chemical engineer, currently Regent’s Professor and J. Erskine Love, Jr. Chair in Chemical & Biomedical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In addition to being the director of the Center for Drug Design, Development and Delivery, Mark also serves as adjunct professor of biomedical engineering at Emory University and Adjunct Professor of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Dr Prausnitz has published over 300 research papers which have been cited more than 47,000 times. He is also inventor of 70 US patents. Dr Prausnitz’s research is currently focused on biophysical methods of drug delivery, which employ microneedles, ultrasound, lasers, electric fields, heat, convective forces and other physical means to control the transport of drugs, proteins, genes and vaccines into and within the body.
